If you weigh it you can determine if it is a copper or zinc. 1982 was a transition year from copper to zinc, both compositions were used. Based on the somewhat bumpy texture, you've likely got a zinc one. It's in ok condition, but not really anything that would bring a premium over face value.
Your coin is an average circulated example, around EF-40. The 1982OP Large Date Zinc in that condition is worth 1 cent. They are very common. Generally, this issue is not worth saving unless it's a high grade coin like this:
