IMHO, this is *the* book for attributing medieval Italian coins. It is only the second time I've ever seen it for sale in the past 10 years or so (I bought the first one that came available...)

The title is "Monete e Zecche Medievali Italiane dal Sec. VIII al Sec. XV" or Coinage and mints of Medieval Italy from the 8th to 15th Century. Yes, it is written in Italian, but you were looking to learn a new language anyway.

It is available from Charles Davis (on vcoins) if you are interested. Spendy? Definitely yes, but worth it!

Mods: I put this post in the medieval and ancients section of CCF on purpose as I think that this will be where interested parties might be looking at threads, but please feel free to move the thread to the book section if you prefer.
