Seems to me that the numbers are backwards. Everyone has the 07 reverse and people are still ordering and getting them. It'd be pretty funny if they recanted the estimates and the 2008 with the 08 reverse was the rare one since they don't seem to be as plentiful.

I picked up two before the weekend. One with the reverse error and one without. I do wonder if they are really as rare as they are being made out to be as they seem to be pretty available for purchase (though for a premium, of course)

I don't know of anyone getting the error from the mint anymore though..

The thing I find strange is the Mint knew about the error and says it had counts but continued to send them out. That seems to be an intentional error to me. Coin collecting going the way of baseball cards..."special inserts" in every denomination.

I ordered my 08 from the Mint on May14th- got it around the 21/22nd- it was not the 07Rev- it was the regular 08/08 ASE

I have both coins.
A 2008W First Strike PCGSMS69 with 07 Reverse and the Regular issue from the mint 08/08.(Raw- not graded)

ONE PCGS MS 69 First Strike up for bid on E-Bay went for $710.00 a few minutes ago.

The 08/07Rev are getting hugh premiums, slabbed and raw.

Do you remeber the name of the TV show by any chance?

It was an 08W with the 07W Reverse and not an 08/08 TPGS coin they were selling?

If it was the 08W/07WRev for $129.00, thats a fantastic price right now!
In the past 2 weeks prices have exploded.

I can't find anyone selling the coin for that low of a price anymore.

Maybe the mint's doing it on purpose to boost sales and get people more interested in coin collecting, which would equal more money for them.

Amazon99,
Wouldn't surprise me at all.
They want us to buy and hoard.
It is all about revenue.

I have noticed myself that every year the
mint quality is declining. Anyone else feel
the same? Packaging is cheaper, flimsy-er (?),
dirtier, and generally junkier. I have been
buying mint stuff for decades, and remember
when it seemed to be quality product.

What was strange was I ordered mine back in March and received it in March and it was 08 Reverse. Wonder why in late April someone switched to the 07 reverse...seems like it would have been destroyed or clearly marked?

HOLLYWOOD:

Thanks for the info!

Just browsed their site- not listed anywhere- even went into their catalog and also backtracked to May22- that's the only date you can go back to.

They must of been selling this prior to the 22nd of May- before the prices went crazy. DARN! I was hoping to buy some more at that price! :)
