Was just wondering if someone could help me and tell me if this is a error or not, it's a 1998 D mint US dime and it has a brownish redish color.

It looks like it was in the ground for an extended time, and the reaction to the soil caused this discoloring.

Hi Boatlife and !


Your coin looks to me as if it's suffering from environmental damage. It's quite possibly spent a few years in the soil and then been found by someone with a metal detector.
