Ok so this coin I would estimate would be XF-AU and is offered by a reputable auction house (although they deal in mostly US currency).

Other Roman coins offered look fine, but this one has me a little concerned. The edges look suspect - Possibly a casting line? But the surface and the strike does not lead me to think it's cast and I don't see any matches for known fakes.

There are no pics of the edge or weight given. .

A beautiful coin though and I would suspect it's going to go for a pretty penny.

Would like to hear some thoughts

I don't see anything suspect. But I agree that it won't sell cheaply.

The coin looks genuine to me and a beautiful example at that.

Thanks for the replies. It still amazes me that something this old can look like this. Y

echizento - Yes - a beautiful example- the best I've seen.

I'll be priced out - but I'm gonna take a shot.
