I bought as uncirculated. Hoping in the 63 range. It's got some luster but not as much as the guy made look like in pic. Hope it's not a dipped coin or AU. What does everybody think? Thanks, Scott

I like the coin and think it makes 63. A low end 63 on the borderline of 62. The reverse looks 65. The obverse fields are really nice, but the cheek is marked up. You can buy a slabbed 1881-s in ms63 for $40 so hopefully you paid well less than that.

Were is a good place to buy from? Never seen a slabbed 63 for $40. Seen for 50-60 but not 40. Only place I buy from is ebay and a few small places.

The obverse looks washed out to me, could be lighting, but I'd say it's on the border of being cleaned

The gouges on the cheek border on damage and take it out of consideration for Choice Mint State. It does appear to be Mint State and if it graded problem-free I'd go 62 tops.

MS-63, would need better pics to check if dipped. I don't know where numismatic student got his price of $40. Only 1921 Morgan dollars can be got for $40 in MS-63. You will need to spend at least $45 - $50 to get a PCGS/NGC certified Morgan dollar graded MS-63 that is not a 1921.

It is amazing how much certified MS63 Morgans have some down in recent years. Purchasing nice, top tier certified MS63 Morgans for $40 delivered is a good price.

After shipping and fees, seller will probably realize $32-33. That's what this coin is worth.
If they paid to slab it, it probably approaches $0.
Economics suck on these coins.
