IEEE Centennial Award Medal
Google Lesson Learned: I searched under the text (100th Anniversary), but the medal goes by another name (Centennial). Who knew?
If you think these scans show artifacts of a dusty scanner, you should have seen the first round of scans
http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/iel5/39/...05526255.pdf ... "As a part of its 100th anniversary celebration, the IEEE will award one thousand nine hundred and eighty-four (1984) IEEE Centennial Medals to persons who have been selected by IEEE Societies, Sections, major boards, and other Institute selections, as having made outstanding contributions in their respective areas of activity."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ameri...al_Engineers ... AIChE (the American Institute of Chemical Engineers) was awarded this medal, but can there really be only one?
I've eMailed AIChE, to wit:
Quote:
In 1984, AIChE was the recipient of the IEEE Centennial Award medal.
I am curious as to how many copies of the medal were 'awarded'.
For example, could any AIChE member order their own copy?
Or, was there only one (1) physical medal issued to AIChE as an organization?
Perhaps there was some mention of the IEEE Centennial Award in an AIChE newsletter?
Any information you can pass along would be welcome.
http://ethw.org/IEEE_Awards ... there are enough IEEE medals to be a hobby in & of themselves.
