I read posts here all the time but have never posted a question so please cut me a little slack if pics do not post quite right What I have here is a 1971 Lincoln that appears to be a DD but I have been unable to find any references to a listing #. While the date area is affected on a different die listed by two places. http://doubleddie.com/661934.html WDDO-005 and coppercoins.com 1971P-1DO-006 The other areas would have been normal, but there is no mention of those areas affected. Also the mark on the reverse makes me think it was a striking issue. I would save it for now. If it were in better shape you might want to have it checked out. See bottom of the page http://www.doubleddie.com/144864.html I'd still hold onto that coin, it's an interesting example of this kind of "worthless" doubling. I would still save the coin with that information as it maybe of interest to another author of a book. That is from Wexler's site, so you don't need to email him, it is already there. The experience was great and much easier than I expected I'm a big fan of pictures and I thought john1 had nailed it, glad I waited to reply as tanman2001 gave the definitive answer. Thank you both for your time. As for coop I must also say thank you for your replies and your library of pictures, knowledge/answers youtube (great music) they are exceptional.
