Tried to resist, but got pulled into bidding on a lot from the last CNG sale; 48 tiny little beans from the terminal Roman Empire and her immediate barbarian successors. The lot was mostly monogram coins of Marcian and Leo, with a few other types mixed in.

This one stood out immediately. Tiny flan, Victory reverse, Tall head with what appears to be a beard!

Could it be that ever-elusive usurper Johannes?

Obv: Diademed and draped bust right, legend off flan
Rev: (VICTOR)IA AVG (G) Victory advancing left

Wish there was more detail on the obverse just to confirm if their is a beard.
