Looking through come circulated change and noticed there is definitely something raised in the date field...
I compared the overlay and nothing should be in the date field where the "7" is located...
I used a program to enhance details and edge detect so you can see it is there...another 7 or something else?

It looks like something hit the coin in that area splashing the metal away from the contact point. It just looks like what you brain interprets it to be. If this were a doubled die, the that area raised above the impact area. Its not. So it is just ca contact mark. It it were a hub issue, then the other devices would be present. (The hub has all the devices that would transfer to the die) Just contact damage that didn't hit a device.
Rest in Peace

Interesting reversal there. Think it is more deterioration than anything, the "ghosts" of metallurgy and the process of machining. There is a slight disturbance east of 2 as well. Sometimes what happens is a "grease plug", the hard crap within the details, falls out, consequently it gets stamped into the die and imprinted on the next few coins until polished off. Not sure if this is that, could be.?
Rest in Peace

That's a very interesting mark! I can see why you asked, very unusual.

Thanks all...at first I thought it was a die clash because it looks like a die clash...
There are other slightly visible indications on both sides of the "7" but it is most noticeable...
It is clear that there is definitely a raised edge to whatever is under the horizontal bar of the "7"...

Mystery to me...
Rest in Peace

My first bet would have been a clash too.

But that area is not affected by a clash:
