I know the pics are not real great. Has this coin been dipped/polished? I won in a auction and I haven't paid for it yet so advice would be appreciated. Edited by jlynes 02/15/2018 03:00 am

If you won, then you should paid for it. Look at the coin in hand, then decide if there is a reason for return. (if offered) As for the coin, it looks MS63+, but due to poor pictures, can't tell if surface is original, which would make a big difference in price.

I planned on paying for it tomorrow when I am am to put money on my card. There are 30 day returns as long as the coin is not taken out of the original holder. That part about not able to take it out of the holder kinda bothers me.

Photos are poor and any definitive grade attempt would be guesswork rather than a true opinion.
It most certainly is NOT DMPL. It's impossible to be certain with those photos, but from what I can see I'd guess dipped.

Quote: You got scammed. NOT DMPL at all. In the future, I would avoid buying coins from sellers who trump up their products like that, whether by inflating their grade, selling cleaned or altered coins as original, or by slapping on unwarranted designations. Unless of course, you are experienced enough to evaluate exactly what you are looking at and what a fair price would be for it.

with Ariette: Usually, when a seller states their coin is "MS+++++++++" it's best to stay away. Usually, they are coins that are circulated, but have been polished or dipped to simulate Uncirculated coins.

looks consistent with prooflike surfaces that have developed a milky patina but the pictures don't seem sharp enough to tell definitively. since you bought it, you might as well post pics of the coin when in hand. I think it has a chance of being pl or dmpl.

Thank you all for your responses! Buying online seems risky and I am grateful to have a community that knows their coins! Thanks again:)
