Hello. Just wondering if anybody can tell me what's up with this 1982 Lincoln Penny date. The coin is copper weighing in at 3.10. I am relatively new to coins and not sure what to make of what happened. Die break perhaps? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not so sure of PMD. For something to have shifted the upper portion of 8 to NW, would have to have stretched and severed plating on the right side, a tear, if you will. I first thought of a grease plug strike thru, but image isn't incused ....don't know the answer.

This applies if the 82 weighs 2.5g meaning a stinkin zinkin, it may be copper?

An image of the reverse could show it if was a struck through or PSD. (That area opposite would be pushed outwards.
