Hello all, Am seeing a lot of these pennies with a die filled FG, some are very light and come across some with no FG at all, Was this a common problems with the cents back then or am I really missing something here
I think I see a very light trace of the FG initials on your coin. It was a fairly common problem back then. It was etheir caused by a Over Polished Die or a Grease Filled Die.
cool thanks for the info, now I need to find one with a strong FB strike on it. I like these kind of coins, even thu no more then face value they are pretty neat
Commonly found on 1969 and 1970. Die abrasion is one cause. Grease filled is another. Die abrasion is often accompany with a weak or floating roof line. Thanks, Doug.
