So I went through my first 2 boxes, and pulled out the silvers and a few others.. This one I do not understand. First off it has a ton of luster much like a proof but it's a Phili coin. Anyway, it's stamped with the years 1960 and 1985 by a second party after the mint, anyone know why someone would have done this? That's the main point of this post, I also found a colored (not toned) 1971 but it's still pretty. And my first NIFC, (just learned what that little acronym meant thanks to deadmummy) a 2007.

The stamped coin is from an after-mint marketing promo celebrating the 25 year anniversary of John F. Kennedy's election for President. Someone took it out of the set and spent it since it really doesn't have an after market value. The 2007 is nice. Congrats!

I and others have found these. Weird stuff. But now that I have three, I officially started collecting them. Why? I dunno, they are weird and cool. You can find other threads on these. Congrats on the 2007. I was really excited when I found a 2008 too. It was amazing.

Ok kids; SCHOOL TIME.
I believe that, generally an:
Acronym: is an abbreviation that spells a (pronounced)word, too; e.g., HOMES (Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, Superior)
Abbreviation: is an abbreviation that does not spell a word
There isn't a hard, fast rule about this; however, there is a distinction between the two.
I'm sure we all care, right? :)
