Hi guys, bought a silver, one Troy ounce maple leaf coin from CoinInvest, the weight in grams was meant to be 31.10 grams but it is actually 31.23 is that something to be worried about? The coins year is 2017.

Mint: Royal Canadian Mint
Composition: .9999 pure silver
Weight: 10 ozt (31.11g)
Diameter (mm): 76.25
Face Value: 50 dollars (CAN)

I pulled these specs online. Do a magnet test and check the diameter measurements. I've heard of coins weighing less but not more. Also check your scale with something you know is real, some times these things need to be adjusted.

Was the coin in a capsule or holder when you weighed it?
If it was, that would account for the extra weight.
Coininvest is a reliable seller of gold and silver so
I don't think you should have any concerns.

The Canadian SML is typically slightly over weight, but as mentioned you can test with a magnet to make sure.

Photos would help, too. If it is not original, we can look for those sign posts.

We have plenty of experts on that series that can give you reliable response.

Maples are always slightly heavy, so that even an abnormally light one will still be over a full troy ounce (31.1 grams). On the other hand, I have had legitimate 1 oz .999 silver bars weigh as little as 31.05 grams.
