I have the odd banknote here or there but nothing of any note. However I do collect the RAM/NPA Coin & Banknotes issues. Pity this was discontinued after 1998....

Very true, I have both the 1997 & 1998 issue. Friends (not collectors) are just amazed how it is possible to obtain all the different dollars in a set with the same serial numbers...lol

The question I have always have is how do you place a value on the dollars...all of them have the double "ZZ" prefix and there is no guide I can use to obtain an approximation.

With only 1,500 printed by NPA, one would assume that it would attract more than AUD400+ dollars that people are now buying off ebay for the whole set.

Like any coins or banknotes the value is determined by what someone is willing to pay for them. Mind you there are exceptions to this.

I personally love the issue but would prefer to spend the money on pre-decimal banknotes.

The seller has it wrong in his listing for the 1998 set. The coins in that issue are proof coins and not Unc ones. The 1997 coins are Unc ones.

HAve bumped this thread to solicit further comments from new members since it was first raised.

I still have this burning quest5ion about the "ZZ" notes and their fair value.
