I found this coin in a mint wrapped roll, and it appears to have an edge strike through. If I found it in circulation I would probably think it was PMD.Any advice is greatly appreciated!

It looks like it got banged around and got damaged from another coin's edge. Post Mint Damage can actually occur inside the Mint believe it or not. Usually it happens when the coins go in the hopper and get bag marks from being jiggled around causing scratches, scrapes, and other Post Mint Damage.

I can believe that! Some of the mint coins I've seen are just horrible!

It is at 10 o'clock position. I'm not sure if the edge gets stamped before going through the dies or not. If it goes through the edger first then that would completely eliminate an edge strike through.
Rest in Peace

You can see where the metal has been pushed from the Hit. Just plain old damage.

If I remember right the edge lettering was applied after strike for business issue coins. Proof coins it was applied at the time of strike by the collar.

I would think a contact mark that deep would've damaged or filled the incused star a bit more. Makes me think rolled through some kind of debris might be plausible. Thanks, Doug.

Looking again and reverse rim seems raised again between 11 and 12 o'clock. Is it another ding on the edge? Thanks, Doug.

It is,But completely different than the one pictured above. This anomaly looks more like pitting. I have to get in bed for work so I'll picture this tomorrow.
