You would figure this would be an easy one to ID, with the city spelled out. Unless I'm reading it wrong I'm getting AIGEINEAS, which is not giving me anything. The obverse appears to be Tyche which would also narrow down where it was from, but I can't seem to find.

Bob is expert in figuring these ID's out, hopefully he will be along soon.

How did the coin get so scratched up? From the uncleaned image it didn't look like that.
Rest in Peace

A quick search pulled up this, but totally different. It is Tyche and the Prow. Wonder if yours is a copy or another variety?

That was my first thought, but the legend didn't match.

Not ringing a bell, sorry. I don't think I've seen anything like it before.

I wonder if the reverse might depict a rudder rather than a prow. Although there is a precedent for turreted obverse busts and rudder reverses (Carteia, Spain), that's a coincidental iconographic match. Aegeae/Aigeai, Cilicia issued AE's with Tyche obverses and reverse legends starting with ΑΙΓΕ (no rudders, though), but again I don't think that's a useful path to follow since the remaining legends do not match. You guys may be right about the obverse figure being Tyche, but I'm not entirely sure. A city goddess, perhaps?

That legend is what's throwing me off.
