Need to get my 'quality' post count up, so here we go... About 2006-7 after hitting a wall with the Barber halves in VF-XF original surfaces and PQ, while hunting down the Pop 0, I happened across an image of a two-toned Monroe Commem in VF and wondered what the heck it was. Forgot about it for a few months, then decided to find that image again, find out what it was, and then searched ebay for more. I saw a lightly worn, nicely toned Norfolk (where we live) for auction. I put in a bid for $400 thinking that would be a plenty, and got beat out on it!?! Hmmm. I must be on to something here. A year later I would find out who bobvvv aka Not Mint To Be was, before ebay usernames became anonymous. I started a blank 50c Dansco page as a type set in VF-XF like my Barbers (see crude labels I made on the image below), and then was offered a Hawaiian in PCGS G6. That was the second most expensive coin ever purchased with the wife's permission...so I looked at that Dansco hole long and hard before NOT cracking it. Bob got me hooked into downgrading the set like other members here, and also joining him in the new Lowball Registry at PCGS. Not a lot of eyeballs looking back then so prices were very reasonable until you got to PO1, the concept of which I still did not appreciate fully at that time. I know there have been a lot of comments about the beautifully worn, but overpriced 1926 S Oregon in F15 that seems to have been on ebay for ever, and who was the idiot that got it slabbed in that grade...well that was me, in 2007. I got it for $58 raw. OK, enough rambling, here is the obverse of that page, and I will post the reverse when I get home this weekend. Thanks for looking! Thanks Don---When I started I just liked the looks of these commems and didn't know anything about the PCGS forum. Can't remember who pointed me to it. I purchased a few in graded holders and it just went on from there. Braddick and Faraway57 were the people that really kept me interested. And then there were the holed commems and that is another story. It was nice when you knew who was bidding on ebay. Met several very nice people along the way

Here is the now-apparently-infamous 26-S Oregon PCGS F15, and then a downgrade. I'd take my old F15 back to crack out for the Dansco. Saw it was 'on sale' for about $115 last month (on ebay) :eyeroll: Grade opinions?^^^

I think they both look nearly identical, but the bottom coin has a hair more detail, especially on the reverse. But I can't figure out what's going on at the back of the wagon? I would give the #2 coin a grade of F-16 if there were such a grade, but I'll say F-15 as well.

Very nice collection. As for the 2 Oregons, yes they both look F-15 with the lower one a bit more detailed.

Great post and nice coins! Thanks for sharing! Could you post larger pics of your Dansco pages? The small pics don't do the coins justice.

The 1926 Oregon was graded VG8 by PCGS and the area on the wagon, I could never determine if pre or post mint issue that looks weird in the photo but under a loupe, did not really seem like much.
Since I can't find the 'quote' feature @CelticKnot - or maybe my post count isn't high enough for that privelege, I will try to resize the Dansco to comply here without using the host's tool.

Nice collection! By the way, to quote someone, you use the tags [ quote ] and [ /quote ] without the spaces. Example: Quote: Example quote

@SilverDollar2017 Thanks! I remember having to manually doing this for youtube, bold, italics, etc. but never anywhere for quoting someone on message boards. Quote: By the way, to quote someone, you use the tags [ quote ] and [ /quote ] without the spaces. @CelticKnot - my pleasure :) @nickelsearcher Thank you, David!
