sorry for the poor photo. This was before I got a decent camera and I haven't updated the pic. Its Judd-235 and I bought it from a dealer while looking for something totally other, almost on a whim. I have no other patterns and don't have any particular plans to get into them.   Edited by Andrew99

My avatar is J-1690. I was looking through some slabbed coins that a LCS in my area had and this was among them. I snapped a quick picture of the coin...if I had a spare $8000 it could have been mine. I inquired about it recently to get a better picture, but it was sold. The story behind it is that the LCS comes across these every once in a while when purchasing whole collections. Usually a coin in the mix. I own a few items that were made in anticipation of the Sacagawea dollar release by the Gallery Mint and Daniel Carr. Not sure if those count as Patterns. |

What is the legality of owning a pattern or trial coin from another country? I have heard the government of said countries can confiscate the coin at will.
