Twenty minutes after posting about a 1968 D LMC that wasn't DDO I find another 1968 D LMC with the newer die set up and I believe this time this is the right one.

Mint mark position looks too low on yours. After staring at many hundreds of 68-D coins with the working hub doubling I just decided to forget about everything else and if it had the working hub doubling and correct mint mark position then I would just look for the die markers on the memorial. I eventually found one and hope to never have to find another one as this is pretty unlikely a true doubled die and probably will disappear at some point from the listings.

That coin maybe an earlier die state? As the die also ages the devices spread a bit closer to the rim. But it was common to find the other types that year, they made a new master hub in 1969. Note on the better one, the devices are still touching the rim area. (which would have been the outer ring of the die) Note on the 1969 how the location all the devices are different. Smaller devices more space around the bust area:

On the 1982 dies they also made a change and the called the large and small date dies. They did basically the same thing:

So because this happening in the same year, the need for the term large and small dates.
