last week I found a struck through capped die and I think I just found a capped die,the image with the tweezers is to show the curve(bowl)shape of it.thanks,the microscope pic shows the splitting edges.

The coin looks damaged. If this happened during the strike, the edge would look normal. Its not. Someone worked it over. If it were a struck through a capped die then the edge would be normal.

I'm not saying struck through,I'm thinking this is the cap,didn't strike many other blanks though I'm guessing

I know they can get real deep was just thinking this stuck for one or two hits and fell off.just a thought

Just a damaged coin. The new dies are flip flopped. Hammer is now the Reverse die and the Anvil is the Obverse die.
