Ten years from now, where do you think the values of common and not-as-common wheat cents will be? Such as 1940-1958 ones and pre-1940s? Will they get to ten cents apiece for the lower tier?

I think not. Unless the cent is discontinued.

Well let me look into my future coin prices '' Crystal ball'' . Hmm , I see an upward trend in the price of common wheat cents rising as high as 3-4 cents each .

There are so many common date wheat cents out there that I think prices on those will never rise -
Rest in Peace

None of us will live long enough to see common wheat above a nickel, if that.

I say the values will not change in 10 years. If they do, they won't go up by more than one or Two Cents. Good news is that they won't go down.

The pre 40s or 30s might get to a dime IMO. Doesn't look like the govt is going to stop production of pennies anytime soon, which would surely raise the prices, but what they may do is to legalize melting them. That would work to raise the value of the remainders.

Price wise, the common dates in average condition will track the price of bulk scrap bronze.
Why? - because tens of billions of them were struck.
That would place them in the most common top ten of coin types in World coinage history.

For scarce and rare Wheats, probably the best way to get an idea of a price trend over the next 10 years, would be to look at the price history of the scarcer IHC's over the last 10 years.

Don't stop collecting Wheats, if that is your thing.
It is more about CRHing, hunting for errors, variety research, and set building, than it is about price trends. You do it for inexpensive coin collecting fun. That is why there are so many collectors of them.
Just enjoy!

I would think by 2028 or close to that, practically all usage of coins will have been gone. The credit and debit cards will rule and all coins will be a thing of the past. Therefore making any present coins worth a lot more due to just no more of them being made.

Common Wheat Cents won't be going up in price anytime soon. There's too many of them out there and most collectors aren't buying them in bulk.

Basic supply and demand is at work here.

You know, I think they're 10 cents apiece now. How much would you pay for a roll of circulated pre-40s? $5? That's a dime apiece.
