I'm not familiar with this particular issue, but a "security edge" is reeded, but has a groove usually with raised dots or other patterns. This was prevalent on a lot of European colonial coins in Asia, especially on coins believed to be especially at risk of counterfeiting. It isn't used widely anymore, although India still uses it on their 5 rupee coins.
Thanks ness-52! I knew there had to be a difference between the two due to the significant jump in value between them along with them being assigned different KM numbers..
You would think that you could find more information on this topic, but I guess it's a "security" issue.. One would think that declassification would come with demonetization.
