I do a lot of bidding on Proxibid attempting to win silver or gold coins at or below melt value including the buyers premium. Believe it or not, I win more than you would think. I have gotten many great deals on Proxibid doing this but here is one of my latest deals.

Silver still has to go up just a bit to put me in the black intrinsically, but the numismatic value has got this $2 Coin covered, lol.

BTW.....I'm a numismatist, although I frequently buy coins based on their melt value, I have never sold a coin based on it.

So feel free to post some of the greatest deals you have been lucky enough to get recently!

Not a silver coin, but I plucked this one from a tray of "junk" world coins at a small club show earlier this year. As part of the group I selected, I calculate it cost me well under $1. Certainly not pristine, but if was to attain an EF grade, it'd presently "book" at £300 (almost $450). And it wasn't even the only obvious bargain in that bunch I cherrypicked, although it certainly was the most astounding.

1831 William IV Penny (".W.W" Variety)

My likely best deal ever is another bargain bin find...

Bohemia, 1/4 Kipper-Kreuzer, KM#280, 1622 (probably; the 22 should be at 11-12 hours).

When this type sells on auctions (admittedly usually in better quality), the prices are apparently in the hundreds of dollars. I got mine for about $1.70 from a bargain bin.
Really should make a better photo, by the way (and this time I'll know how to attribute it on Numista).

Both are very nice finds indeed!

My LCS has a large treasure chest full of foreign coins sold by the pound that I've had some very good luck cherrypicking from. The owner barely looks for silver coins (as I have found many) much less coins that have a high numismatic value. I found a 1926 Greenland 25 Ore, 1909 Kiau Chau 10 cents, and an interesting Indian Head cent that had BOSS stamped into the reverse that just happened to be a full date 1877 that I sold on the Bay for $100!

My best so far has been the 1951 GB Penny in the photo for ~$0.70:
