I know I've seen a list in a post but I can't find it now. I have more than a quart jar of wheat cents I've collected and am thinking about sorting through them.

My plan is to save anything pre 1930 and I have written a quick list of low mintages and common errors from my Red Book. Giving what might be a thousand pennies a really good exam seems painful so I really just want to concentrate my efforts where I am most likely to find something interesting. Any expert opinions on dates to really go over other than what I have already mentioned?

At the end of the day I'm still going to hoard my low value wheaties anyway just for fun.
Rest in Peace

When you are new to the sorting game, give every one your attention. Cud, die chips and cracks, and other minor "errors" are a lot of fun, too.

Split them by decade, then by year, then by mint mark.

Make it fun, rather than work.

I have 2x2s, albums and plastic tubes. My best finds go into 2x2s and I write down the info and approx value. Next goes into album. Last bunch goes into tubes by decade or year for later searching. I'm sure you will work out a system that makes it fun for you.

Yes - look for Doubled Dies, RPM's, "BIE" errors, die cracks, and post anything here that you find questionable for verification. Do you have a scope hooked up to your monitor that is able to take higher magnification pictures?

Mark, yes I have a pretty cheap one, I haven't played with it too much but this will probably be a good opportunity.
