I checked CC and VV, found this DDR-001 which deals with the floor spread under statue. http://varietyvista.com/01b%20LC%20...9DDDR001.htm
Clearly in VV pics and mine there is some sort of warping/bulging.
I took pictures of 3 different coins to show it is consistent.
Any idea what would cause this and is it worth noting?

Sorry, that is not 1969-D DDR-001. You are missing the doubling. Look at the floor on the building. Note the angled mark just below the statue. (center image on Variety Vista)

You coin desn't have that, so it isn't from that die.

What you are looking at the alteration of the bays. The bays are the same level as the fields on the dies. When the bays are polished incorrectly, it wear off part of the die. When something is removed from the die, it leaves a raised area on the coins struck with that die. So you are looking at the altered die events, instead of the hub doubling on die. (You can't have a doubled die, unless the hub doubling is on the die) Other wise you just have an altered normal die.

Something to keep in mind for identifying doubled dies: Keep in mint the pre 1989 coins with mint marks, the location of the mint marks will help to identify doubled dies from those mints. The location will be an exact match. If not, then it is not from that die/die pair.
