I am in NYC several times a month on business and wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations for a REPUTABLE coin store to visit in Manhattan - preferably in the "midtown" type area which is near the office I visit).

There are a bunch of stores listed in the Yahoo Yellowpages, but would prefer a reference from someone that has experience dealing with any NYC stores as to which are truly good/reputable/trustworthy establishments... As well as any "cautions" of stores to steer clear from...

Thanks.

Michael

The only one I know is Stacks & Rudy Bowers . He's big and deals in high end coins . I'm not sure of the address . Also I'm sure there are smaller shops in NYC , just look them up .

Heritage has a branch in NYC, I believe. If so, they usually only stock better TPG.

I live a few blocks from Stacks on West 57th. I stop in few times a year. Reasonable stuff. Most coins are not on display.

Thanks for the info. on Stacks.. That's not too far from where I work and may be worth checking out.
So, do you need to go in and ask to see specific types of coins?
Do they have any "Raw" coins, or only "slabbed"?
And do Would they have "reasonably priced" coins such as Franklins and Peace dollars that are under the $100 mark?
Thanks.
