1984-D Penny What's With The Date & MM?

The MM is flat, there looks like a secondary D to the south of the primary D, so it's not an authentic RPM? Teachers your student is in the process of learning? Crazyb0 Rest in Peace 10197 Posts	Posted 03/07/2018 6:02 pm If it shows any zinc around it it is called "Split plate Doubling" where the edge of the devices cut the thin copper plating. I does look like a bit more tho, an effect known as plate disturbance doubling. When air and other materials are trapped between the layers, stamping pressures force these along the shape of the stamping. Report this Post to the Staff
