Hi, everyone. I found this penny from a bank roll. The MM is flat, there looks like a secondary D to the south of the primary D, so it's not an authentic RPM? Teachers your student is in the process of learning? I still have a lot to learn. what's going on with the date though?
Thanks, everyone...

If it shows any zinc around it it is called "Split plate Doubling" where the edge of the devices cut the thin copper plating. I does look like a bit more tho, an effect known as plate disturbance doubling. When air and other materials are trapped between the layers, stamping pressures force these along the shape of the stamping.

Thanks, You are very good teachers. Kindly look north of MM. That brown looking stuff which looks like icing, what does it make of the D MM? My deepest gratitude of your responses.

The date looks like it was roughed up somewhere along the way. No premium for this. Spendable.
