Hello everyone,

I found this Augustus as on ebay and I am tempted to buy it.

Do you believe that it is genuine?

Thanks in advance for your help

I don't see any signs of it being cast. It looks genuine to me and has to be one of the finest examples of this coin I've seen. If it's fake they did a fantastic job making it. Again I believe it's genuine and should sell at a high priced.

All right your advice is very helpful... I am less familiar with roman coins than greek ones. So I wasn 't sure...

The only thing that even raises any question is because of its superb appearance. A truly lovely example.

It's ex-Roma Numismatics Limited, so it's been vetted. It should be fine. See:

Museum quality specimen.
I assume it came from a "major" ebay seller and most likely came with an impressive price tag !
A magnificent bronze coin. You will not regret buying this one.

I assume it was in excess of 350€ ?
If lower then I am very very jealous !

We'll I don't know the final price, since it is sold by auction. I'll let you know!
