Does anybody know anything about this coin? It's is about 20 mm in diameter and appears to be made of copper. I think it is arabic in origin, but I am probably wrong THANX in advance
This coin is from Tibet, back when it was an independent country. It's a 5 skar dated on the cyclical Tibetan calendar Cycle 15, Year 56; this equates to 1922 AD. Listed in Krause as KM/Y# 19.1, Upper Dode mintmark variety.
The creature in the centre obverse is a mythical Snow Lion.
