Newbie234 Pillar of the Community United States 1386 Posts	Posted 03/12/2018 09:56 am I think everyone knows that I struggle with the DD's, But the letters on the reverse look a bit strange to me. They aren't flat shelf like with the MD that I'm used to. They appear to be rounded. Sorry about all the pics. I couldn't decide on which ones to use! It's most likely some sort of doubling and not a true DDO but I had to ask. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Report this Post to the Staff

scurry64 Pillar of the Community United States 900 Posts	Posted 03/12/2018 10:00 am It is definitely MD. You can tell because the size of the letters is reduced. I think the reason the MD is not flat is because of circulation wear. This is a tricky one and I'm not surprised that you questioned it. Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 03/12/2018 1:27 pm The way to tell it is Machine Doubling? There are two letters that will help on your images. The 'O' on OF and the 'R' on DOLLAR. If you look at the shapes of these two devices, you will note those areas are reduced and not enlarged. Note the top loop on the 'O' is thinner than the lower loop because of the MD? Also the same issue with the 'R', the affected area on the center part of the R is being reduced by MD. While this is not as strong as the classic MD, it is still the same cause. After the strike the die movement damaged those devices. Edited by coop 03/12/2018 1:40 pm Report this Post to the Staff
