I found this Canada Dry token/coin that was given away in a 2004 promotion. It states - "14 kg one troy ounce Gold" - I cant find any info on it and suspect its not kosher ! Tracking down ad company that handled the promotion and plan to inquire with Canada Dry about coins specific advertised material content.
Any help tracking down links or contact info for the "Marketer" -
Included a picture -
Thanks -

@B4248, first welcome to CCF. Second, could you please post a picture of the other side of this token? Also, this picture is too out of focus to confirm, but I wonder if it says 14 kt rather than 14 kg? A quick trip to your local jeweler or pawn shop will determine if it is actually gold or just gold plated.

My first thought was that this is some sort of temperance token.

My second thought was that Bung (a friend of mine from the Wizard of Id), tried to drink Canada dry. He failed; there was still plenty of booze left.

Both thoughts wrong, I will continue to read this thread, to learn a little more about this token.

I am a bit worried as to how a jeweler will test it.
I hope he uses a non damaging test, such as a measurement of specific gravity. A chemist is more likely to have more appropriate equipment for such a test. A bullion dealer could use an ultrasonic or X Ray test.

I just found this - but still no picture of the coin/token : "To celebrate its golden anniversary, consumers in the Northeast are getting the chance to win 100 ounces of pure gold.
Beginning last month, specially marked 12-packs and 2-liter bottles of regular and Diet Canada Dry Ginger Ale feature the Win 100 Ounces of Gold message directing consumers to CanadaDry.com, where they can enter to win. A viral component helps spread the word even faster. Each 1-ounce gold coin will be stamped with the Canada Dry logo on one side and a commemorative Canada Dry 100th anniversary logo on the other. The coins arrive in a velvet bag."

Interesting.

In an earlier post there was a question about what the other side looks like.

You can google Canada Dry Gold Token and find images of a 24 karat token that doesn't look like yours (probably youve already seen that)

The weird thing to me is how many times I have emailed #CanadaDry and all I get is the standard - "someone will get back to you" - no one ever does. I cant help be suspicious of why they ignore me - its a simple request for any info about the #Gold Give away or photos of the coin/tokens given away.
I will keep digging - somethings not correct?

4/02/2018 - Weird - still no response from either the marketer or #CanadaDry about these gold coins. Also no matter how many times I search no pictures of these show up any where. No further stories either - wouldn't you think if a company was giving away 100 #OneOunceGold coin/tokens there'd be some news story or other news ?
