I was in the right place at the right time. I saw a peculiar obverse of a half in a teller's tray, so I knew I had to buy all the halves she had. Two of the halves were modern clad Kennedys, but this one is my first Classic Commemorative, an 1893 Columbian half dollar!

This topic comes to mind something that happened to me around 2 years ago. I was at a random bank and saw a full roll of walkers in a teller's tray. Of course I asked for and received them. Two were slicks but a few others were from the teens and early 20's. Only 17's, 18's and 20's - no obverse mintmarks, no 1919's or 21's.
