Came across this George V One Cent coin. Is this considered a die clash? I have seen others like this in research. Any assistance on the possible error and grading would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Yes to all the above - ghosting was such a problem with the UK pennies at that time, mainly because the depth of obverse bust was too great, thereby drawing material from the reverse. They experimented with various changes in design and eventually switched to a much smaller bust to clear the problem.
..and it is a Penny, not a cent. At the time it was made there were 240 pennies to the pound so in no way could it be a cent of anything.
