Today I received an 1991 Canadian $20 as a tip from a customer and I'm just wondering what sort of value it has.
it looks like it just came out of a bank machine its new and crispy and it has the serial number AWT1691691
i have done some research since I have come home home and believe its a 3 digit repeater it doesn't have serifs in the serial number and it has a B.P.N
any information would be great as I cant seem to find anything similar using google to figure out its value

Your right. It is a three digit repeater. There would be a bit of a premium to it. It is part of what is known as the Bird Series as all denominations had a picture of a bird on the back.

Thanks, that helps :) I am still searching around to see what I can find out, but the bird series information helps and the confirmation that it is a 3 digit repeater helps. Should I post a picture of the bill on here do you think it would help in anyway ?

thanks, I read over the links you provided that was actually the first page I landed on when I started my search. I thought they where only talking about 5 and 6 digit repeaters either way I think its a cool keeper to hang on to. here are the images of the Note :)

Quote: it looks like it just came out of a bank machine its new and crispy Its a nice note but I see a lot of handling on it. There is creases right below 1991 on the front as well as the reverse. There is a crease in the middle horizontally. Plus there is ruffling on the edges. I would give it a grade of EF which is 60% of Uncirculated price. The Charleton catalog give a UNC price of $55 for this bill.

You note is definitely worth more than $20. It is a keeper.

Not only is it a repeater, some collectors would also collect this as a rotator, even though the number 1 isn't an official "rotating" number.
Great find and agreed, it looks like in EH condition.

Thanks upc239, Good to know, this bill has rekindle my love of collecting currency. I used to have a huge collection of coins and notes from all over the world until one day when I moved, somewhere along the way my entire collection was lost/stolen in the process. So I am going to keep this bill as the first piece in my new collection. thanks again everyone that responded for all the great feed back and I look forward to posting much more over the the rest of my life as I build up my collection.
