E PLURIBUS UNUM looks like it was struck with bad or dirty die I'm guessing. The rest of coin is struck correct with no other errors. Wondering what actually caused it and if it's worth anything on ebay. Lol...and thank you!

Coin damage on that area will look like that. The devices are incuse and if the damage if lighter than the strike, the damage looks like was there from day one.

There are curved lines in the pattern and the patterned lines are doubled up...I guess I cannot see how coin impressions could have create the unique patterns. But thanks anyways!

Bag marks can be curved. (depending on how long they are)

It sometimes takes rotating the coin 90 degrees to see that the devices are incuse and the damage is incuse.
