Hello all, I was wondering if anybody else had noticed a significant delay with PCG us specifically regarding the time it takes them to "accept" a package or submission order into their system? They have had an express order of mine that was signed for on Friday and still is not in their system. I have verified that it on site though. I know that they cannot predict an exact turnaround time but to say five days for express on their website and then to nearly double that time seems a bit odd. Also noticed my last submission last month took 24 business days to be completed. Just wanted to know about others recent experiences. Thanks

There was someone else that asked that question, and the answer was PCGS did put in a new "system" where they will sign for your package when it arrives but then it can sit for days, possibly a couple of weeks before it "officially" enters the system and goes to the grading room. The turnaround time clock doesn't start till then.

Their acceptance is a little slow at the moment for getting it into the system, it seemed to have slowed down around the ANA show. Both PCGS and NGC have been having some technical IT issues lately as well which might be slowing things down a bit

"... five days for express ..." Is that 5 calendar days or 5 business days, i.e., do weekends count?

I submitted one coin to PCGS. It took 12+ weeks to be processed and then had to be returned for proper attribution which took another 6 weeks. You can get better service but you can't pay more.

As previously stated, business days. But to say 5 days on your turnaround time up front , that's very deceptive. An ebay seller trying that stuff would get horrible feedback. Shoddy service as of late. To be very frank. Ps I will be happy to support this post once my coins are no longer in grading limbo of PCHS

Looked on the PCGS board earlier today and found someone asking the same question, and the answers showed that typically PCGS has been sitting on the coins for a week from the time they arrive before they're entered into the system. And as I mentioned the turnaround time clock doesn't start until they're entered into the system.

Just an update they have now had my coins for 10 days and have not opened the package. They say that they have had a "massive" amount of submissions that has caused this. Unacceptable in my opinion, I will not continue to do business with them unless they go above and beyond to make this right. And to everyone, yes I am aware the clock on grading times does not start until they enter your coins into their system, but to force you to pay for an express level service and then advertise that that service is currently taking 5 business days on your website, it is absurd, misleading, and terrible customer service.

I once had them sit on a batch of 20 error coins take so long (more than 8 months), that when they returned the coins, they apologized for the delay and waived the grading fee... for error coins, that was a CAN$1500 bill (including shipping and exchange rate) that I did not have to pay...
Error coins at PCGS typically get sent out to one or two error experts to validate and describe the error... so they typically are not express items.
But hey, I would submit 20 errors tomorrow and tell them to "take their good old time" if I knew that going to be the outcome!!

@SPP I would also be fine with some version of 1. Them actually grading these coins. 2. Almost any action to make up for them dropping the ball on this order.
Also, if they would have told me up front that I would have to pay express prices for economy service, then I would not be in this situation, my coins would have went to NGC.

Not saying they didn't, but this isn't the first year they have been around and not a first for those events to happen. If it happens every year then post it on your website. Or just let your "members" know that this will be the case upfront.
