Hello, I'm an American living and working in Tokyo, When I was young I loved collecting Indian cents and back then low grades coins were readlly available. I would spend my Saturday's at my local coin shop looking though bags of lose coins. The hobby has changed so much since the early 70's Well I've been bit by the coin bug again and I'm starting to put together a MS65-66 set together. I absolutely love this coin and it's history only this time it's a little more expensive Cheers, Edited by silversurfer9679 03/16/2018 07:20 am

Silversurfer9679: to the CCF! Take advantage while you are there, and while you have the chance, to get into Japanese numismatics, especially so when your access to U.S. coins is less.

Glad to see you have found your passion in the hobby renewed after all this time! I would also echo that while you are in Japan, I would take advantage of the opportunity to immerse yourself in the coins there a little. Even just as an investment, the old silver dollar sized yen have really taken off in terms of popularity worldwide, but I hear they are still common and affordable within Japan - it would be a good chance to invest and make some money to spend on those MS IHCs! Also, the Emperor is planning to abdicate next year, with commemorative coins for the occasion. Good opportunity to get some of those as well as some sets of the circulating coins for sale/trade fodder!

Welcome to the Forum! Edit: Wanted to add that I recently started putting together a 10 yen set. If you'd be interested in some back and forth mailing of stuff I'd be interested as well.
