I picked up this 1890 Crown from my LCS today. The first lowball coin I have purchased. What do you think for a grade?

IMHO, there's far too much damage here for an actual lowball.

G-4 details? I'm not sure how does the British system work, unfortunately.

G+ details, not really a lowball.

UK standards I would think this is "fair" and worth silver scrap value only.

Paddy is quite right, silver scrap value only.
As of today, this would be approximately $15-$16. If you paid less than this you've done well.

Paid $10 for this, a 1929 Florin, and a pack of 2x2's.

Although I did not buy it for this purpose (as I have with others), I think I will add it to my collection of pocket pieces and let it, at the very least, shine up a bit.

Damaged ... not gradeable by any standard.

By USA grading G04 at best if undamaged ... this is not a lowball by most accepted standards.

Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art
