I inherited this coin from my father. He probably picked it up when he was stationed in Thailand during the Viet Nam war.

I can't read Chinese. I don't even know which side is the obverse or reverse or it's value, if any.

Can someone help me with this one? Thanks in advance.

@coingem, yes it is Chinese (from the Qing Dynasty). The obv (your first pic) says Dao Guang tong bao and the rev (your second pic, but rotated CCW 90 degrees) says Boo Chiowan. It was issued under the authority of Emperor Xuan Zong (1821 to 1850 AD). They made bajillions of these, but it is a very nice piece, considering that it came from your dad.
