I always hear of the Small Dates or the Large Date 1982 Lincoln Cent, but never the 'normal' 1982 Lincoln Cent, which means that one of them is the 'normal' one. Which one is it? Like, which one had the most minted, or has the same appearance of say, a 1972 or 1992 cent? Also, was there more Zinc Cents, or Copper Cents that year?

Thanks.

There is no normal one. They are either large dates or small.
lemme see if I can find which are more scarce than others for 1982

My Red Book indicates that
1982 large date copper is worth .35 in ms65
1982 small date copper is worth .50 in ms65
1982 D copper is worth .30 in ms65 ( I think it's a large date )

1982 large date zinc is worth .50 in ms65
1982 small date zinc is worth .85 in ms65
1982 D large date zinc is worth .40 in ms65
1982 D small date zinc is worth .30 in ms65

I think if you go by the prices the better ones are the more expensive ones.
I did find that the 1982 D copper is a large date and I would imagine a 1982 D copper small date find would not be a normal 1982 D cent and probably quite valuable.

I think it aligns with the values you quoted, TNG, but I understand that the changes were made more than halfway through the year. That means that the zinc cents and Small Dates would be slightly more scarce.

By the numbers above, the 1982 Small Date zinc has the highest value. The reason why the D-Mint SD zinc doesn't correlate is because there were no SD coppers to compare them to. Supposedly, one D-Mint SD copper has been found, but I am skeptical.

The "normal" one would be considered the large date. It was the planned coin for the year. They were trying to use up all the old master hubs, but they ran out and were forced to use the newer master hubs schedule for service in 1983. So yea, there is a "normal" size, just that as is with the gubmint, nothing ever works right!

The large date copper are the most common. I find 10 times more of those. I find very few zinc 82 coins and all D coins are scarce in my area. I'm on the east coast.
