Found this today along with some other kicked out coins in a coin star machine. The rim on the face seems a bit tall and seems to slope off on the reverse. Also it seems to be trying to come off. I don't know much about coins, but I do like to look at them. So any thoughts/info would be widely welcomed

It almost looks like a Magician's coin. Are the two sides oriented normally or are they unusually rotated?

If you can weigh it, that number may help as well.

Or it spent time in a Nickel Arcade.

I haven't weighted it yet, but I was comparing it to a modern nickel and the 1941 is bigger...I'll weight it now

Perhaps there is a strip of metal that has been added surrounding the rim, like a bezel. It may be an ex jewelry piece or something alike

I'll look closer at the edge, see if it looks like anything was attached to that rim at somepoint

I can see a slight indication of where the metal rim was sealed and smoothed into its self. But aside from that bent bit on the back, there is no other marks on the rim
Rest in Peace

It has been "rimmed" for a jewelry piece The broken area is where a tab used to be.

Now that I think about it, that looks like it was a Pin-back, with a clip or a straight pin. 1941 = WW2, so some kind of patriotic or personal memory? My In-laws were married in December of 1941, maybe a memento?

It has been damaged. Not a mint error.
