I have a question regarding a statement in the latest catalogue of a well known coin company.

In describing the return to Monticello Jeffersons, words to the effect are given that the reverse showing Monticello has been modified from the original reverse. I have looked and looked and can't convince myself that there has been a modification. Perhaps there has been a strengthening of the design of Monticello, but I doubt it.

Does anyone have any info on this?

The designer's initials (FS) are now on the right side of the building where the mintmark used to be on older nickels.

The design was strengthened but the addition of the designer's initials was the most obvious change.

Yes, the 2006 Monticello was modified a bit to be more architecturally accurate with a few extra minor details. Since the obverse was a completely new design, Felix Schlag's intials were also moved to the reverse.

Thanks guys. Well duh, I feel like an idiot for not seeing the initials in the new location.

I did a lot of looking also, before I realized the difference.
