You have attributed it correctly, but I think it is a spendable coin unless you keep coppers.

Considering the combined total from the Philly mint was 10.7 BILLION coins, that production of the small date started in Sept, that would roughly be a MINIMUM of close to 4 BILLION of the coin around...it is very common and only holds any numismatic value when in mid to high grade MS (65-69). Yours is one that needs to go back into the pond.

So, how many copper Small Dates does that equate to versus zinc?

That's normal for that year. They had both, Copper plated Zinc Planchets and 95 percent Copper with Tin and Zinc. You must be thinking about the extremely rare 1982 D small date cent that was accidentally struck on a Copper Planchet. Only 1 is known to exist.
