Hello coin community! The reverse of a dime has a torch in the design and I was wondering why it is on the front and back of all the Lincoln pennies? Is it an accident or part of the Lincoln Cent series. Could someone give me the history behind it. Please.
Also all the eyeballs (looks like a Washington quarter eye) that are seen in coins. Do they take away the value of the coin or is it not factored into the grading process? That same question goes for the Lincoln cents as well. If I had full bans on a penny would it give more value or just not factored into the grading process.?
Hopefully this picture works for now until I take better pictures of the obverse and reverse. The bottom of the torch starts on the letters A and M in America. Like you were checking for the close Wide AM area. I see that on almost every penny. I will send a pic of the eyes I am talking about as well.
I see what you're seeing, but no, unfortunately that is not an error. It may be an issue with the plating or it may be the result of one coin being pressed into another.
