Here's why I think it is a counterfeit. Notice the denticles around the rim, your coin is pronounced, the one plate coin isn't that indicative. Also not the Mint under the bust is "V" I had assumed Vienna, but if you notice on the chart only A & C are listed for 1824. mcstone Valued Member United Kingdom 179 Posts	Posted 03/23/2018 03:47 am Hi there, I'm by no means an expert but from what I can see it could possibly be a 1824 1/2 or 1 Scudo coin, these were produced in Venice. To my eye it does not seem counterfeit but it always pays to be cautious, I would get the opinion of someone who has seen a few of these if possble. Hope this helps :) Report this Post to the Staff

Hope this helps. Apologies if I am way off base. I am not very familiar with this issue, just trying to help. Edit to ask it is Lombardy-Venetia not Austrian, correct?
