I am new to the forum and new to collecting coins. I bought these as a set online, and after reading around I am paranoid by the number of reports of fake coins; so I'm looking for some input on whether they appear to be genuine:

Barber-Dime,-Quarter-And-Half:-Are-They-Real?
Barber-Dime,-Quarter-And-Half:-Are-They-Real?

I did read a post on here about verifying silver coins, so here is what I tried: they do not react to a magnet that I can see with the magnets I have on hand. When I clink one against a steel coin, it makes roughly the same sound as the steel against an all-silver dollar I had on hand. Unfortunately I don't have a small scale to take a weight, and I don't want to try any chemical tests.

So, any advice? Can you tell from these photos?

Rest in Peace

These coins are genuine average circs . The 16 Dime has scratches ,might be a details coin . The other two coins are not that shabby .

to the CCF.

Your coins are authentic, well circulated examples of the classic Barber coinage series.

The dime and quarter show signs of a cleaning ... not unexpected for the era.

Leave them just as they are.

Wonderful, thank you all! I bought them to have basic examples of the types to start my collection, and am very happy with them in that regard.

They are all real, well-circulated examples.

All of them will receive a details grade, unfortunately. The dime has graffiti, and the quarter and half dollar have been cleaned.
