1347(a) Morocco 20 Francs, Silver, Mohammed V, 177k Mintage, Y# 39

There are some major leaps in value amongst the various grades according to NGC.

This is the first coin from Morocco I have ever had in my possession so any help is appreciated.

And if you want to include a "real world" value that would be great as well.

Thank you.

I collect Moroccan coins after having traveled there in 2013. This type of coin is hard to judge. I've slabbed two myself, and I've gotten UNC details and AU58. Normally, I'm pretty accurate, so these were two mistakes on my part. Looking at this coin, I think there's at least a possibility it is UNC. Many Moroccan silver coins are found heavily toned, especially from the early 1900's and before. Depending on how the light shines off of it, it could very well be unc. I see what is potential luster, especially to the left of the 20 on the reverse for instance. But, looks like there could also be evidence of circulation around that 20, too. We'd need more photos from more angles to tell. So, it could also be totally circulated. I'm not of much help!

derekjacoby your post is a lot of help. I appreciate it. I will post some more pics today from different angles. If you ever feel like it I'd love to see the two you have.

When it comes to the date on the coin. Does this date convert to "1967"?
