I see that Niue (I am not sure which private mint issues their bullion) is coming out with a new one called the Double Dragon. Niue seems to have new issues frequently and usually don't pay any attention, but this design is pretty attractive. It looks like a knock off of the recent Australian Dragon and Phoenix, though.

Great Britain is also issuing a double dragon. They are on pre-sale status with delivery around mid April.

How close to a bullion silver round, in numismatic after market values, are these likely to be?

On the UK coin, 50,000 minted and current price about $5.50 U.S. over spot. Most of these low mintage bullion coins come out around $5-7 over spot. Far better investment than high mintage US/Canada/Mexico bullion coins with mintages in the 10's of millions, IMHO.

I can't help thinking of the marketing mistakes that the Franklin Mint made.
The similie is a bit like the Gooose that laid the Golden Egg, but in in that case,
the Franklin Mint destroyed their own Egg.
Collectors lost out in the after market.

I really hope that does not happen with the over issue of current collector coins, by most modern mints around the World.

The difference with Franklin Mint was the product was priced way over bullion. It was like buying jewelry with the extremely high cost over metal content. When selling these the best you could get was melt.
I think if you can pick these low mintage bullion coins up for a few bucks over melt you should be okay. You always have an ounce of silver in each one.
Collecting these will be a chore keeping up with all the new issues. But doing it by type instead of getting each date should help keep things in line.

I don't see anything in common with Franklin Mint's horrendously overpriced
merchandise and these type bullion issue coins.

I buy these to make a few bucks a piece at shows. Nice ones always sell.
